AR/ Game/ UX/UI Design
How has technology changed your chosen area of research and the people who work within it?
You are required to predict where your chosen technology may be going, be able to suggest new and innovative ways that your technology could potentially be used, and design a prototype to demonstrate your concept.
From having an interest in futuristic and current technologies I noticed a trend in AR technologies and how they seem to be immerging immensely the last few years and with the technology being easily accessible I thought this would be a great way to go. I decided I would like to have a project were I got to design and develop an AR project. Initially I wanted this to be an educational or entertainment source.
When I started to think were is a place that could use AR to entertain people whilst they wait and a restaurant is a place that people are usually waiting without entertainment. I decided this would be a good place to introduce a new AR game to keep customers entertained whilst they wait on their food. Using QR codes to launch the game the user can use the character to catch their dinner and avoid obstacles.
RestARant Rush is an augmented reality game that to be played in restaurants which encourages customers to play for fun and to try win discounts or prizes from the restaurant.
